"A lawyer's truth is not truth at all; it is, instead, lying consistently."
Henry David Thoreau

"Law is the profession with the highest depression, suicide,
and divorce rates."  Barbara Fredrickson

Licensed lawyers make more money litigating than by seeking peace or compromise.  They are not diplomats; they are warriors and warriors fight, contest, and resist.  Litigation is war by other means.

Therefore, they do not encourage compromise until they have milked their clients of as much money as possible by prolonging the disputation process.

This is true for both plaintiff and defense lawyers.  They cooperate with one another in the process to maximize their earnings since they all belong to the same club, the bar association.

The lawyer's goal is to prolong the dispute and run up their hourly billings until recommending settlement just before the hearing or trial date.

Their goal is to keep as many balls (cases) in the air as possible so that they can double, triple, and quadruple bill for each hour devoted to each client.

An audit of lawyer billing practices would reveal substantial fraud.

Mentoring Utilizing Online Tools!

Learning to think clearly and logically is required to succeed in any profession or occupation.  It is essential when applying legal knowledge to real-world matters.  One must learn to be objective and to observe, listen, evaluate, analyze, write, summarize, and present.

Law is about life; it is multidisciplinary!

The application of legal knowledge involves a combination of experience, wisdom, psychology, human nature, human behavior, business, and principles of law.

Legal Education Has Three Objectives:

First, one must learn to think clearly, that is, analyze, evaluate, identify facts, and arguments on both sides of an issue.

Second, "thinking like a lawyer" is nothing more than thinking clearly. There is either clear thinking or muddled thinking!  The goal:  logical thinking, internal consistency in one's evaluation of the facts and issues, and accuracy in thought and presentation.  Successful people in all fields of endeavor have mastered the art of clear thinking!

Third, legal education teaches substantive law.  In a broad sense it is the study of the history of ideas, societal norms, practices and procedures of people, institutions, and government.  The study of law touches every aspect of life and human experience.  Study of the law is a multi-disciplinary endeavor.
